Keywin Pedals USA Launches New Online Store February 10 2014, 0 Comments
February 10, 2014, Colorado Springs, CO—Keywin Pedals, distributed in the U.S. by Rotor Components LLC, is proud to announce a new online store. Designed to more effectively provide loyal Keywin customers with access to accessories and small parts, The owner of Keywin Pedals USA, Kervin Quinones, hopes to add dealer pricing and support to the store in the near future.
"After taking over distribution of the brand about six months ago, we wanted to make sure that our site would support future growth of the brand in the United States," said Quinones. "And this site can't come too soon. We've seen a major uptick in sales of the pedals—primarily from bike shops with in-house fit specialists."
However, bike fit specialists aren't the only people buying from Keywin Pedals. "We knew the brand had some momentum," said Cameron Chambers, a staff member at Keywin Pedals. "However, what we didn't anticipate was the surge of contact from riders who already owned the pedals here in the United States." Chambers continued, "The brand had been a bit under-represented and they were having a hard time getting small parts and accessories to keep their pedals on the road—you have to remember that some of these guys have owned Keywin products for well over 15 years!"
Keywin was born in New Zealand in 1983. It was the brainchild of John Winkie, a compulsive competitor with a sporting career that spans five decades across a range of sports.
Keywin Pedals were the first company to pioneer the “twist-out release” principle now adopted by virtually all pedal makers. The design was enormously successful. In conjunction with Look, Keywin led the charge toward a wholesale change to "clipless" pedal systems within the bike industry in the late 1980's.
Since then, many other manufacturers have followed the lead but none has managed to duplicate the lightweight, performance and practicality of the Keywin design.
